Immediately adjacent to the park is the Jefferson Park branch of Los Angeles Public Library, built at this location in 1923. The library lot does not have any open space of its own. The library is a wonderful complement to the park.
The park is separated from the library by Prescott Court, one of the few remaining, open, mid-block pedestrian through ways in our area (source: Jim Lancaster)
Jefferson Boulevard has five educational institutions between Crenshaw and Western, including the Sixth Avenue School, Holy Name of Jesus School, and Celerity Charter School. Jefferson Park also has Mid-City Magnet School and Frederick Douglass High School on Adams Boulevard.
